Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Rebuilt the brake caliper that was dragging on my '76 Westy. The inboard piston was seized. Cleaned it up and installed new gaskets.
Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Got the new engine in the bus. Cranked it up for about a minute. F#%^*{] oil light stayed on. Quit for the night. Going to troubleshoot today when I get off work.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Pulled the motor out, replaced the transmission mounts. cleaned up the engine compartment and put the motor back in. Took her for a test drive around the block.
Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Replaced the front shocks (again like the rear they just completely collapsed and would not return) and replaced one of the brake light switches so I have brake lights again. The front shocks raised the front about an 1" bringing it higher than I want it to be.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Pulled the new engine out of the Jolly Rancher today before work. Fixed the oil light by replacing the switch yesterday. Fired it up for 15 min break in and all seemed well. Let her cool down to adjust valves. Could barely turn the motor. Fired it up this morning and oil light is back. Think it has a pinched bearing or something. I'll be taking it back tomorrow or early Wed. Not fun five days out from a 5000 mile trip.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Changed my exhaust out for the third time and figured out that I didn't get the points engaged inthe pivot hole when I installed them. When I went for a drive last week for the first time, it started running bad then died. Got it fixed and started it back up again.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Got the turn signal indicator in the dash working, put the new window cranks on, ripped the dash pad off and installed a cd player with a couple of bookshelf speakers in the back until I replace the interior and put in actual car speakers.
