Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Just bought another 73, picking it up today along with another 73 and we are having a 76 delivered from Fl today. So 3 newbies comming in in one day! Plus picked up an engine for the 79 and will be on the road to deliver some parts and pick up another engine this weekend before having some folks drive over and camp. Whew...busy week!
Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Got all of the lights working on the 66, and got a chance to drive it around the block. It has alot of power but It smokes pretty good.

Will try and get some pics today. Was so hectic did not have time to grab a camera. Have it on the CCTV and will copy that off and post it, probabbly looked like the end of a Benny hill show! Got them all unloaded and grabbed a few camping chairs and took a break, looked around and just from where we were sitting you could see 12 buses, 2 beetles, a golf, and a rabbit. What a beautiful site!

Got my trim painted and installed today
That was irritating me. There is more important crap to worry about but looking at broken trim clips and holes in the body was getting to me. I ordered all of my brake parts from lindy today, so tomorrow night will be cold beer and brakes.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
About 5 days ago, I tried contacting a seller on thesamba for some fresh air deflectors http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=741446, but I guess he doesn't really want the money, cause he never got back in touch with me??? Anyways, decided to go to home depot and bought a 12"x18" piece of sheetmetal and went to town making my own. Here is the trial fit. Gonna trim it down a little more and round of the edges like the one in the ad, and then paint it to match the fresh air box. Took it for a test spin and it's an amazing difference. Actually had to move the main front flap lever to the first notch, and then put the front/rear selector to about 10% front and 90% rear to get it where it wasn't blowing what's left of my hair away. Total cost was $4 and the sheet of metal is probably big enough to make two sets.
Eventually I'd like to try and make an adjustable one, so the driver and passenger can each fine tune their side.

That's funny that you posted this, I had a set I got from Chad about a year ago and finally got around to installing them the other night. Those adjustable ones are awesome tho!!

Installed new starter, tightened the alternator, and rebuild the axles on Pippi.

Hmmm. The SP2 needs new brake shoes. I wonder what model would be the same? This should be fun for the guys at the LAPS.
