Really? I had pretty good luck with Simple Green. But I was using it at full strength.

Were you stripping off any paint using it at full strength?

i like purple power. it won't strip the paint if you don't leave it on there for hours.

I'm guessing you haver a lot of caked on buildup. If thats the case, use a plastic scraper (won't damage the paint), and get all the heavy stuff off first. then use purple power (full strength), and scrub it good, then be sure to spray it all off with water immediately after scrubbing. some people say it will peel paint if you leave it on for hours, but its never happened to me, and i let it dry overnight once, lol. paint was still fine. unless the paint is already flaking, then scrubbing will make it come off. but i've never had purple power actually remove any paint. But i still wouldn't chance it, wash it off after scrubbing Wink

I've got some serious caked up s**t....It seemed like I was using pure elbow grease to get it off, but I didn't want to use a degreaser for fear of paint loss....not that the OG paint is perfect, but it looks 100% better after a nice scrub....I'm thinking about a respray, but there are some rusty areas that need treating. I'm sure I'll post some ??? in the tech forum about rust removal and treatment after I finish cleaning. I'll give Purple Power a try Smile

I've had good luck with Simple Green full strength and brake cleaner on areas of much oily, greasy build up. I've had Purple Power change the color of my paint when used full strength.

again, if its caked on, no degreaser will get it off. use a scraper to get the caked shit off first, then use purple power.

It's not immaculate but the simple green did a pretty good job without taking any paint off.

I finally got around to using the cabinet parts I salvaged from Jerome's rats nest. Cleaned and repainted the inside. Used one of those plastic paints for lawn furniture to paint all the handles the same color. I had some that were grey, white and black. Now I just need a new water pump and this cabinet will be complete.

still workin on the 72. Got my speaker box inside, and partially hooked up. still got to run a negative batt cable, run the front 6's wiring, still got to wire the headunit, a little misc wiring, and tune the sound so it diesn't sound like crap, lol.

also did a little wet sanding on the body to try and get rid of the primer, the PO sprayed all over the car. Very nice OG paint underneath. has a few little rust spots, and a couple places, where the PO sanded a little to far, and exposed some of the primer, but right now, the spots i've done, look REALLY good, and are as smoothe as a baby's ass.
