Lets see, yesterday my idiot light came on, so today, i replaced the brushes, replaced the regulator, replaced the red, and green wires that go from the generator, to the alternator. STILL NOTHING. so i then said screw it, and replaced the generator with a brand new one wire alt, and also had to replace the gen stand with an alt stand. Then tied all the red wires on the regulator together, and the blue and green wire together. and all was well.

THEN on the way to YUBUGGIN, it seems like one of the front wheel bearings went out, causing a HORRIBLE noise, and the worst shimmy i've ever felt, lol. then my turn signals quit working, and the idiot lights quit working as well, but playing with the fuses made them both work (turnsignals, and idiot lights), so it looks like its just bad connections at the fuse box, so i'll be replacing ends, solderings, and heatshrinking soon. all the fun stuff.

Man, my friday the 13th SUCKED Sad

Dried out my carpet in my car from the flood I encountered going home from Y U Bugg'n.

Also removed the fluted lens on my headlight buckets and replaced with a clear one. Now all that H4 light can go out on to the road! Wow what a difference.

Haha, I'm doing the same with my floor padding. I put the seam sealer down a while back after the first big flood. Definitely much less water got in this time, but there was still some that made it through.

i was driving home with dad and kyle. while climbing a hill on 285 and my engine starts knocking. CRAP!!

then after a while it quit. HOORAY!!

then we were literally 5 minutes from home and i ran out of gas climbing a giant hill. CRAP!!!

then dad had some gas in the car he was driving. AWESOME!!

then my battery wouldnt hold enough charge to turn over my starter. CRAP!!

we finally got it rolled off and limped her home. the whole time my floor pans were the equivalent of riding home in a lake.

Sounds like you guys at least had some unexpected excitement, luckly no one got hurt Kyle.

I spent some money buying a few more parts for the '59, but forgot to get dual port intake gaskets, ones under the end castings. Does anyone know if they can be reused? If so, how many times???

I have the new intake, bead blasted and painted ready to go in. Picked up new speedo cable, spindle seal and heater cables. Next is a deck lid and narrow axle swap out. I picked up the axle tubes last week, got them bead blasted and primed them, but ran out of time on Friday at work. I was asked to drive our largest Freightliner with a '32 foot flatbed for another department. Nothing like driving a 10 speed crash box through downtown Atlanta.

Not sure if your gonna be my area, but i also have some spare gaskets you can have. and no, do NOT reuse them. Once you tighten them down, and take it back off, they are trash. I'm talking about the metal ones, not the actuall gasket material type ones. but either way, i wouldn't reuse them. they are crush gaskets, and once you crush them, thats it. I had an end casting go loose on me, on the turbo motor once, and after i tightened it back up, it still wouldn't build up enough boost, untill i replaced them.

My dad wrecked his car yesterday, so today i spent the better part of the day looking for a hood, bumper, and headlights at south and east pull a part, and used that as an excuse to scrounge the leftover remains of two bugs, and a ghia. Got a few odds and ends, like a gas tank vent tube (where all the vent hoses from the gas tank connect to), nice gas cap door, a hoover bit, some wiring, connectors, some misc trim i needed for my 74 super, a map light out of that same super (the little swivel light in the dash), and a few other things. didn't find anything for the galant tho, lol.

What did the Ghia's front end look like? Rusted, bent, or missing? Was it at South or East?

Drove up to All Around Restos. Savaged a wiper assembly from another bus. Drove home and installed it only to have it break in exactly the same spot my other one did. (pound head against wall) (burn $50)

That's terrible, maybe it's the wiper shafts that are sticking and ruining the motor
