Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Pics...
Keep in mind that this set is the prototype for the final kit. In it's final form the brakes will have a much more finished look that will include billet brackets, a custom powder coated caliper, and a billet adaptor as well. The calipers are the four piston type and the pads are a race inspired hard street compound.
I left my camera at the house so I didn't get any pics durring the install. Here's what I could get in the garage.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Drove Oh Bugga to work, yes with wet roads! No CHATTER!!!
Got home, removed rear set cleaned all the old hair from back seat, removed battery-cleaned terminals-installed clap, Installed passenger rear carpet, yeah a glue ride to work in the morn!!!
Also installed the hose to fan shroud, GOT HEAT?
Vacuumed it out really good, looks fantastic!
Need to loosen the clutch cable a bit, bleed and adjust rear brakes.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Waterbug update. I replaced the water-pump, the timing belt, the tensioner, the thermostat, the accessory drive belt and the drive belt tensioner, also flushed out the cooling system and put new antifreeze in.
The water-pump had a plastic impeller that was cracking in several places...the new pump has a steel impeller...much stronger. Both belts looked bad. Both belt tensioners felt bad...play in the bearings. The thermostat was stuck closed....Which caused the overheating problem in the first place.
All of the new "German" parts to do this work was a tad over a hundred bucks thanks to my friend who let me buy through his wholesale account.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
so in order to get this topic back on track, hahahaha:
yesterday i traded with DOODLEBUGG for a killer looking fiberglass decklid. the long early style, not the short late style. today i cleaned it up a bit. the day before yesterday, i bought a rear package tray for my 69 baja, and an oval window clip. not sure what i want to use the oval window clip on yet. but i was thinking on my 74 super. now i just need to pickup an early rear apron from Heinz57. that way i can start fitting the turbo to fit under the apron and decklid. i also spent a little time working on a 1500 motor. trying to get it apart, but the pistons are giving me hell. they are soaking in some pb blaster now. i really don't want to bash them off, but i may have to.
