I drove the rabbit again today...a little further than last time. pretty sure my clutch is slipping. bled all of the brakes and i have a great pedal when i pump it, but if it sits it will go to the floor. I'm thinking master cylinder?

Today, its valve adjustments, timing, new axle boots and getting all the tools off the floor!...Then its time for drip'n and drivin'

Been working on Jade and Java and the trailers this weekend. Trying to get them both ready for Reynolds.

Changed the oil in both cars
Put new gaskets on Javas fuel pump
Wired up the trailer lights on Java
Painted Jades front apron and reinstalled the horn grills finally
Popped up the napper so it could air out
Checked the lights on the napper
Drilled Jades bumper for the single wheel trailer mounts

Almost ready now! Just a few more things.....

Drove it 300+ miles for a friends B-day party. Slept in it in 27 degree weater surrounded by V-dubs... Great weekend!!!! Only bad thing was Following Alex from Stockernauts, ok maybe not bad, got some great mileage plus got to hang with Easton and Layla, but following a 40horse in a bay...we need to get that boy a bigger engine!!!

(Saturday) Got the engine ready for the '65 beetle, found a gas tank for the beetle and painted the '65 breast plate tin so I can use the '65 breather.



Got the '70 bus engine out and replaced the seals on the gen stand (metal only was there...) and the oil cooler seals (no leaky, just wanted to get new ones in...)



Will pull the flywheel tonight and get the new oil seal in. Then it is off the the VW bud to get the brakes all replaced.
BAP here We come.

I still need some pre-66 fenders.

lol, i didn't slap a turbo on mine. i was responding to what mein vw said, about having to follow a bay bus with a 40 horse. i was saying to just slap a turbo on it, lol. guess i need to use my quote button more often, hahaha.

But i do wanna turbo it later on tho .

Had a valve spring break on the 2007cc the other day. no biggie. it has an engle 120 cam, with stock valve springs, which is a definate NO NO. i'm gonna go ahead and use solid rocker shafts, have the heads machined for dual valve springs, and chromoly pushrods. i plan go ahead an change a few things while i'm at it anyway, like getting rid of that POS empi shroud, and a few other things.

Kool so when are we going to see it Friday or this weekend.

well, i pulled the motor out, and realized the valve stem fell out of the head, meaning the valve broke. so it may take a little longer to get back on the road, lol. the valve that broke was the exhaust valve. and the end of the valve punched thru the center of the head, between the valves, and into the intake side. so the head is pretty mangled. the piston is actually not too bad. some big pound marks, but looks as if it may still be useable. I'm gonna replace it anyway, but it doesn't look bad. Also, when i got the head off, looking down at the piston, i see a big ole 91.93mm stamp looking right at me. turns out the engine actually has 92's instead of 90.5's, meaning the engine is actually a 2074cc.
