Wheels are on. Had to rush off to my son's football practice so I didn't get a chane to get pics yet. With the 135s on the front I realy need to get it lowered.Is thare a tire just a little bigger than the 135 maybe a 145, or even a 135 that's just a little wider?

Once you lower it they will be fine.

I'm a crappy cameraman but here are a few more with a little light. It's going to drive me nuts until I get it lowered.

It is going to be sick once you get it lowered.

Put 40 dollars in gas in her. That's all the station would let me get and still didn't fill her up.

There's something wrong with somebody if you can't fill a VW!!

Tell about it. 40 bucks can't fill up a 12 gallon tank.

With the gas situation, cruising down to Sonic was out of the question so I decided to try and track down my oil leak and see if I could get it fixed.

Just about took everything apart


Found that 1 leak was coming from the oil cooler. Put new seals in there to solve that problem.


Went ahead and put new gaskets under the fuel pump and gen stand. (put a new O-ring on the dizzy a couple weeks ago)


Put it all back together


Drove up to QT to get a drink after putting it all back together - They were out of gas by the way, never seen that place with so few cars.
Found that I still had oil coming from somewhere inside the engine bay - found it - leaking from the oil pressure sending unit. Good thing I had a new one on the shelf - installed it and will have to see how the oil leaks are now.
Got back and gave her a bath.

Looks good Eric - I'd love to see the front end come down.

After driving the 20 miles to work the engine bay has no oil sprayed around it. YES!! That was driving me nuts. Still have 2 very small spots under the car though. Must be coming from push rod tubes or rear main both are new though.

Scraped bird shit off the car cover that has give her shelter for three weeks now. Still no brakes. As soon as I get the money up I'll take her some where to get the brakes fixed. I guess what pisses me off the most is 4 months ago I put a set of pads and shoes on my pickup in two hours and last weekend I put pads all the way around the wife's Dodge in less than an hour and I have been working on this VW with a much less sophisticated system for two months.

Got home from the hospital today and found the Firestone 135R15's that I ordered from Coker Tire. Still waiting on the white wall inserts.

Well actually it was last night but it was dark so I took pictures this morning. I got hold of a 205/60 tire so I slapped it on a wheel to see if it would fit on the car and see how it would look. Although it is tricky to tell, the car sits a little lower on the 205, which was part of the intention. Here I have compared with the 165 still on the other side. What do y'all think? (just to clarify, the 205 is on the unpainted wheel)

I vote for the 205/60/15!

Also when are we going to see the vanagon?
