I was at the shop(Southern Street Rods)
went to see what the dealio was with the blinkers, speedo cable, and anything else I could run into. Also cleaned the wheels and windows.

Well I unplugged the wires that connect into the fender to the bulb socket, cleaned them(sand paper) and put new bulbs in. I did this to both sides.
I checked the flasher relay and found a white wire just hanging out. Question Anyways I have no idea where it goes. I took a pic(its below)

Any help much appreciated I love you

We since she ran for two hours yesterday I went ahead and got her insured and went to the tag office. Got home and bolted on the tag and then couldn't get her to turn over. Looks like I'll be troubleshooting and cleaning the FI as I replace the lines, again, tomorrow. scratch

I did use 1/4 inch. Where can I find 7mm fuel lines locally? The two parts stores I checked only had 1/4 inch.

try Mycos in scottsdale- http://www.mycoimportedparts.com/

Mycos has some and I'm picking some up tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.

Wher the white wire is attached to the metal it looks like a ground for something. Also looks to be a hack job on the wiring, relays are pretty cheap, get one and swap it out, if not the problem then you have a spare.

In the process of trying to determine why she started and ran just fine on Monday but didn't on Tuesday I pulled off all of the 1/4" fuel lines and cut the 7mm lines to length. Then I crawled under an noticed that the new fuel filter that had passed no more than a gallon of fresh gas was almost black and had big chunks in it. So I drained the few gallons of fresh gas from the tank and noticed that it had turned almost orange. So tomorrow I'll be pulling the injectors, cleaning them, rebuilding it all again, this time with the 7mm lines and I'll see if she'll start off of a gas can. Then it looks like Friday and Saturday I'll be trying to figure out what to do about getting all the gunk out of the tank.

Put a master cylinder in the '67 today

Tomorrow should be Tie rods, steering damper, sway bar. Maybe Brake lines too.

With the type 4 engine you CAN get the gas tank out with the engine in situ, but you will wonder why you did it.
Take some advice, go to harborfreight and get their 1500# motocycle jack, and pull that engine out.
I had to pull the tank out of the '76 westy I had.
Even with the engine out it is a pain to get the gas tank cover off, while your in there replace the hoses in the fill tube and the evap lines, otherwise you'll smell gas soon when you pull a hard left turn.

Working hard on the German Look. Its getting closer to be painted. Tried on the Creative Car Craft rear fenders tonight. Had to drill the mounting holes and they matched right up. I need to do a lite sanding to them and there ready to shoot. Here a few pics. One with out the fenders and two with.

hey whats up. i got every thing put on finally (except the flip it kit), didnt get any pics of the process(didnt want to get my camera dirty). i might be able to get a few shots of it with everything on it. Its back on the road now, i just need to put a new steering shaft with the universal joint. Mine are worn out and have some play. i prob should get it aligned as well. I drove it to Decatur today to advanced import to pick up a new master cylinder, brake switches, pushrod tubs, and valve cover gaskets. Cool

Wanted to thank the ones who came out this afternoon and tonight to help me sand. Got a lot done, most of the car is wet sanded. Got the windows taken out. Broke the windshield coming out. No big deal, just a little more money. Anybody have one 71 SB.
Going to paint on Monday...............I hope. Should get it back by Thursday, then time for reassembly .
You have to be thankful for friends that come to help you in a time of need.

Thanks again!!!

Pulled off all 4 fenders and repaired most of the PO's body abominations.
I still have to repair 2 more fender bolts that were "burned out" with a torch - Yea!
I have repaired the "L" cut in the back apron and rebuilt the rusted out rear apron corners - tricky but all steel now.
I created a sheet metal piece for the rusted out passengers door pillar bottom, got it welded in by drop light this evening.
I am going to weld up a crack in the front and rear bonnets as well as a few other nit picky areas in the morning.
I MIGHT, MIGHT get to prep the body for paint tommorow...(I am going to HVLP some rustoleum, yeah I know, but it is tough durable and cheep.
I just might get the beetle (sans beam, ready to drive to BAP.) the pins are bad bad bad, but the road to BAP is short and the speed limit is 55, I do not think that this bird will break 45 with this worn out front end...

We'll see.
The '70 westy should be back from the brake place, this week - all new brakes! That is going to be at BAP!
See ya'll there!
