What did you do to your volkswagen today?

spent about 30 min on my dome light and still only got it 1/2 way working.

I was going to ask the same thing LOL!!!!!!!!! does it come on when the bug is off. Then goes off when it's on. Guess I'll wait to see what's going on Wednesday.

Now I got you when you say halfway. Can't help you with that one. When mind mess up I went down yo Bobby.

mine works when it want to. it always turns on with the switch on the light iteslf, but works sometimes with the door switch. if you press the door switch a few times, it might come on. the door switch isn't stuck or anything, so it must be worn out inside or something.

Pull your switch out and clean the contacts. Its a dry contact and will get cruddy and carbonize. Hit it with an emory board or sand paper and shout fix it.

Well you got two days to figure it out then put it on the road. What better why to see if it's ok than to out it on the road to Florida

Worked more today on the yellow german look. Had to cut out the lower door hinge on the drivers side due to rust located right at the heater channel. One thing leads to another as usual. I was able to fit the new front left quarter panel and its ready to be welded in. First I will have to go to Tims VW tomorrow and find me a donor car and cut out the lower door hinge. I might try and pick up the other bus from him as well.
Also punched in the trim holes and got them ready to be welded up. Trying something I read about in one of the forums on The Samba on how to do this. I will post pics tonight.
A lot to do before Bug-A-Paluza.

Towed Old Yeller back again. This time had only made it about 2 miles. Thanks go to Kale (Sgt. Carter/ zoey76) for getting my butt off the roadside and back to my truck/trusty towbar during his lunch hour.
To you guys that wonder WTF?- I'm almost 100% sure there is a kink or a block in the line.....almost sure.
I promise, no more buggin' it until I check out that fuel system, tank to carbs.

PS. How come no waterpumpers stop to ask if they can help/if your ok...? Only the aircooled (and there were a couple)????

ALL MY FRONT END REBUILD PARTS CAME IN TODAY! WOO HOO no more fighting with the super beetle shimmy. (hopefully) CANT WAIT TO GET ALL THE PARTS ON

Ok let me get this right. All the parts are in and it's Monday. Well let's start tonite then there's Tuesday,Wednesday all day we should have the bug up and ready for Thursday morning. Let's get to it.

haha i wish we could. But i have work from 8am-2:15pm then school from 3:30pm to 5:50pm monday tuesday and wednesday hopefully it will be ready for reynolds

For Reynolds and the VW cruise-in at Hooters then bug a puluza. Can't wait to see it back on the road.

Just clean up the HAVOC for the road and check tire pressure. Think I'll go full up with gas tonite just in case I feel like going down to sumitt early and camp out from tomorrow.

Pulled a late nighter and got the oil changed,adjust valves,install new alum valve covers and rework the spare tire compartment to fit the wider tire & rim. While I was doing that, James rewired the radio and added some aux power outlets. Now we gots tunes for the road and a place to charge stuff!! Thanks to James for making it happen! I would post pics but too damn tired. Maybe tomorrow.

I am changing the oil and adjusting the valves today after work then giving Herbie a bath tomorrow after work
I also just had a new radio put in so I have music for the trip. I had a indash DVD installed so now I have a 7 inch screen
that flips out. My son, John, and I will be watching some movies on the way down
