Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
After getting the alternator put back in, I decided to drive it over to the "surprise movie" night at the city of Hampton park. And guess what movie they were playing, Herbie Goes Bananas.
So, I drove to the movies in style I guess.

Front beam, tranny, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, e-brake, and wheels installed this weekend and the floorpans are painted with master series. I now have a rolling and stopping chassis

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
been working on the bus the last few days. Pulled the front windows and sanded the dash and fresh air box to get rid of the textured brushed on paint job (complete with tons of brush stroke marks and even a few bristles). Now the dash and fresh air box are smooth and the same color as the rest of the bus! Put my windows back in with new WW seals and ran a bead of 3m Auto Bedding Compound in the groove that goes over the metal seam. It was pretty messy but cleaned up well with GooGone. Hoping that does the trick and stops the leaky window syndrome.

Finished my new fuel lines, clamped all of them, put a layer of undercoat in the wheel wells, and while I did that my wife scrubbed the engine down. God bless her!

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Got the ghia vert home lat night at 11 pm... Man that was a story. Any who, got the interior out of pinky (black and in good shape) and traded it for the roached out browninterior that was in it. The only brown that remains is the rear seat because it is narrower than a regular (tiny) ghia seat. The wheel bearing is toasted on the passengers side. Got the Rivis cleaned up and mounted, but I am going to have issues with the tires rubbing. Going to get a set of off road dial a height shocks to get fender off of the tire. It is only rubbing on one side, the other clears great.... Any who wil do this until I can get around to pulling apart the rear and reindexing the torsion rods... Got the pad removed from the pink ghia's dash and installed on the vert. Lots of wiring issues to get straight, but it does run and move and will drive as soon as I get that bearing out, it appears to be the outter bearing only. KC

This is how our bus looks. At least you have what goes in the empty space. Oh, well, we moved ours to the other side of the garage to make way for my new to me 68 ford f100.

The samba thread on puma shrouds shows there is a difference in the flow fins on the inside. Let us know if it runs any hotter, looks good.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
I parked Scooter in the garage last week. I pushed him out of the garage and went to start him and he was out of gas, My gas gauge is broke. What are the chances of backing him into the garage, running fine and trying to get him out and he was out of gas so I put gas in scooter today. The carb clogged a little and he wouldn't Idle, a quick check of the idle jet still did not help. I revved him up and put my hand over the carb and all was good.
