ok, in an effort to get this damn thread out of the gutter, and back on track ( ), today i fit the hood i got from eric (fluxcap) on my 74 super, and i couldn't believe how perfect it fit (eric, your THA MAN!!! Thanks!!!). the old hood never really fit right. alway had an issue with gaps, and the curve of the hood always seemed to be wrong. I've always heard that the hoods never really fit perfect from the factory, so i thought this was the case, as my old hood didn't appear to have ever been bent, or damaged in any way. It fit worse, after it flew off and folded in half . but this hood is soo much more perfect.

One thing i noticed differently, was how this new hood has a raised portion on the front of it. Like that center divider extends past the handle, and it raised farther. I'm guessing some sort of emblem goes there. never seen a super hood like that. I'm diggin it tho.

Getting closer...got the airbox hooked up, did some grinding to make the new tank fit better, put the hood on and installed the front bumper. (Which I had already installed on the rear. Doh!) Found a mystery wire under the driver's front fender. It comes from the wires going to the headlight and has what's left of a rubber boot on it. Fog lights?

Gonna be gone all week, so I changed the oil and gave it a bath so it'll be ready for the trip to Montgomery next Saturday!

went to summit. got some 90 degree mandrel bent exhaust tubing. Gonna make my own intake for my turbo bug. hope to start tomorrow.

Finished the passenger side door. Unless it's hanging off the car, I will never replace felt again...I will never replace felt again...I will never.... (You get the picture, it was a royal pain in the butt!) Lined up the hood latch, more carper prep, did door seals. Next week, carpet, install the interior, front, rear glass and pop-outs, BUY A BATTERY!

mounted the gull wing doors on the aztec an put the mounts on for the rear clam shell it sucks there is no adj on the doors or hinges to get the bod lines strait hope i get i fingered out this week

nothing cause i still dont have another one, but iam looking at one tomorrow.

did a little work on my turbo manifold. mostly a crap load of measuring, and thinking. Man, i'm glad i took geometry in 9th grade tryng to figure out exactly how i'm gonna make two 1.5 inch pipes go into a single 2 inch pipe, lol. Making a Y pipe, and i have two 1.5 inch 90 degree mandrel bent pieces (to fit on each end casting), and they have to merge into a single 2 inch diameter pipe (the outlet for the turbo).

traded my jeep for this 70 bug.... neat little bug, no show car but its nice. has a narrowed beam and drop spindels (not installed)

Just drove it 700+ miles to hang with a bunch of other v-dubs. and my beam held the whole way!!!! Did not get the 74 done in time so took white trash up. Now its time to get back to work!

That is the plan. Was going to cut the body off and put the buggy body on it but decided its just way to cool to chop up. So its inside now resting comfortably awaiting some surgery!

thanks, i even saw it at bap thinking that would be a nice one to have and suddenly its mine after one email hahaha.

Finally got the rear bearings installed on the '73 and drove it work today.
