Wheel removal
Ok I know this sounds stupid but I cannot get two of the wheels and tires off I have broke two snap on breaker bars a Mac impact and a craftsman socket and I cannot loosen any of the four bolts on either of the tires.

Re: Wheel removal
Never seen them that tight, but maybe time for some PB Blaster.
You can also take the wheel/tire/drum off and soak from inside the drum too.
I just have to ask though, Are you sure you are doing a "lefty loosey?"

On the stupid chance Loc-Tite was used a little heat helps... If a 3/4 breaker bar won't work I go to the hot wrench

Re: Wheel removal
never had a bolt heat would take care of and never broke an impact broke many bolts . try heating the bolt up with a torch and you should be able to use a regular breaking bar and get it loose

Re: Wheel removal
Check the treads in the drum and see if they were/are dammaged.

Re: Wheel removal
i had trouble busting my front tire bolts loose. busted my knee one time. i ended up using a 1/2 breaker bar and 19mm socket and kicking it down. the tire would spin on me when using a cross lug nut wrench. the breaker bar / socket now rides in the trunk :-)

Re: Wheel removal
Wow. Never had that much trouble with lug bolts! I did with the axle nut tho. Had to use a 3/4 craftsman sliding breaker bar, and a six foot long steel pipe over it, with my 265 lb self standing and jumping up and down on the end. Had to swap the wheel out for and old 12 inch wide baja wheel and tire, have the emergency brake on, and two large friends in the backseat to keep the wheel from turning. But it eventually slowly creaked off. The force actually bent the pipe and breaker bar handle.

Re: Wheel removal
I have a friend who always puts an anti sieze compound on almost everything threaded before he puts it back together.
I have done this myself on the lug bolts, but sparingly- it stays in the threads for a long time. It has helped.
