^^^Sweet. Good job Cameron and Bryce!
My mom and dad surprised me today with a brand new stock muffler set-up for the bus. They are awesome like that! I've been talking about getting one for a while. Haven't installed it yet, but can't wait to get it on there and put my non-hacked rear apron on and get the holes in the bumper welded up!

Pulled the gas tank out of the Squareback, and fixed the leak at the bottom of the tank. I had Sims Radiator boil out the tank, and used the old pickup tube with a new screen- but the old fiber washer was beat. Put on a new pickup tube, fiber washer, nut, and a little sealant so I should be good to go. Tomorrow, looks like I'll swap the generator and see if the generator light goes out- fingers crossed!

Well, today I drove it to griffin and back. Ran into the traffic of Christmas shopping. Then, a Ford pulled out in front of me at the interesction in front of Walmart. Luckily, my brakes and horn work great.

Picked up another steering column fan today. I bought an all metal one a couple years back. This one is not caged but has foam blades.

Here is my other fan

Also picked up an ice crusher that I am going to install in the bus for all of the mixed drinks I drink.....

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
I put the new steering damper and spark plugs and wires in jamies bug and the front end still has the deathly super shimmy so it looks to be a full front end rebuild.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Put in some work on my new ragtop to get it to daily driver status. Rebuilt headlight buckets with fluted lenses, got all the lights working, few other odds and ends. Gonna do valves and tune up this week and put some miles on her.
Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Worked out some engine wiring and adjusted the carb. Runs better than it did before. I hope its not raining real bad tommorow so I can go drive.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Put a skim coat on my rear bumper to smooth out my welding job (well, kinda smooth it out anyways
). Then it started raining, so I threw some plastic over Bocephus and turned my garage into a paint booth and broke out my high dollar paint equipment. A couple of cans of krylon!

Of course I was kidding..............I would never use duct tape and risk losing my mighty putty sponsorship.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
Removed and cleaned the cold start injector in Pippi. Hopefully she'll fire up faster in the morning now.
Made a new glovebox with a spot for a radio. I'll install it and the radio as soon as the paint dried.
Pulled Judy into the garage, stripped out the seats and carpet and started work on repairing my broken clutch tube.

Re: What did you do to your volkswagen today?
The ride in the morning was bitter cold, I was doing my best impression of an Eskimo.Jon65 wrote:
Jeez, I can see driving a bug without heat, but a buggy? Did you at least wear a jacket or something?
I had a nice jacket UNDER my parka thin-sulate gloves, wool toboggan with a wool scarf and that was in addition to the hat on the parka.
I needed THICK-SULATE gloves in that my finger tips were really cold, and my legs were cold.
But it was a blast.
Put him away into the garage for probably the last time this year, see ya in the spring Al.
BTW, the trip was 45 minutes averaging 40MPH in 41*F weather.
Wind shill calculator said either 12* or 28* depending on which formulae you use...
All I know is that it was COLD...
