Clutch tube repair

Any advice you could give before I cut open my '67 tomorrow?

I have no advice but, "good luck" there is a lot of support on the samba, but you know that. If you were closer I would come help, just to learn.

? Do you know where its broken. Well before you make your tunnel swiss cheese take a bore scope and look inside for the break. Then cut accross from the break so you can gain access to weld up tube and ad support to that area. Warning do melt clutch tube be careful and before you repair loosen cable till its slack. After I reapir break I wrap a piece of sheetmetal around tube an weld to tunnel for added strength. need info feel free to contact me

Sorry about the non existent pics, this is from a few years ago. There are measurements listed, so you cut in the right spot. Skip the hole saw, use a cut off wheel instead, that way you can bend it back into place and weld it shut- keeps the tunnel strong.
