Cherokee VW Show August 10th and 11th

We had a good time again. We enjoyed the show, the camping and most of all the driving! Here is some of the pictures that Sonia and Mike took.....of course we forgot our camera.







We stopped and helped the couple that we played corn hole against at the show. They ran a little hot on the way over the mountain just a few miles from Newfound Gap.

You know I can't think of better folks to hang with! I got home around 2:40 or so. We left around 10 and stopped for gas and Zaxby's. Will def go back next year, if just to camp. Great camp grounds, clean cool, shaded and pretty much level.

Great pics! Glad y'all made it home safely. Sorry we didn't tag along for the scenic route home, just trying to make it home early and get a few things done.

We had a blast as well and definitely plan to be back next year. Here's a couple more pics I got on my phone.

Show car entry was $10, which got the car, driver, and any passengers into the show. At the end of the show, all the participants got to come in the building for a buffet line style dinner, which was delicious.


This goober actually won a trophy and a nice cash payout!

Had a great time, nice drive and good campground. The people were the best part and hangin with the vw friends.

Had a great weekend hanging with friends up in the mountains!! Here's the few pics I took (I didn't forget my camera this trip, but I did forget to clear the memory card so I was only able to shoot a few pics. ) The show was nice and there was alot of stuff to keep you busy. Me and Shakey almost got shut out by some pro-corn holers in the corn hole tourney. We were able to squeak out 1 point to avoid getting skunked. Got a pair of aces in the poker walk but it wasn't enough to win. Oh, and like little screamer (don't ask ) mentioned above, I got lucky and pulled out the win for people's choice and brought home more cash than I went with. Anyway, here's the pics....

Deb and I had a blast hanging out with old friends and meeting some new ones. The show was cool with all the different things to do and we were also able to ride the bikes into town since we were so close. We were able to break the day up by riding the bikes to the river and getting out feet wet. The campground was over the top. Super nice place. We took our time getting up and out today, just enjoyed the morning by the river.

Where was that waterfall at that came over the road?

That's in Highlands, NC. It's called Bridal Veils Falls. I skipped the trip through Highlands this time, but Bryce took us home through there once on the way back form Circle Yer Wagens. It's an awesome drive through some winding roads with lots of waterfalls. That one isn't actually over the main road, there is a pull-off there which is great for pictures. Here we are on the way back from CYW last year. Definitely a cool trip and well worth the short detour on the way home. It's really not far out of the way at all.

A thread like this will make a guy want to buy a bus!
