We drove through Cherokee this afternoon, rivers looked good for some tubing. Also saw this guy just chilling and eating on the side of the road right before the entrance to the smokey mount park.

Hello Fellow VW Lovers,

If you are receiving this email, it is likely you attended the 2012 VW Show in Cherokee, North Carolina and we would like to invite you back for the 2013 Show. We are revamping the show a little and we hope that the changes will make the show more exciting and enjoyable for all. I have attached a flyer with important dates and times. Please take a look and share it with other fans of VW.

We will be doing the poker run a little differently this year. Last year all of the stops were in the Acquoni Expo Center parking lot. We thought it would be much more fun to put the stations for drawing cards around town. So you will be able to hope in your ride and enjoy the scenery and Cherokee while you pick that winning hand (hopefully).

There will be live music at the lunch hour and supper hour prior to the awards ceremony. A great local band, The Boomers, will provide the music. They play country, golden oldies, pop and classic rock.

Games include Corn Hole (the popular bean bag version of horseshoes), Karaoke, Poker Run, Frisbee “Hole-In-One” and Frozen T-Shirt.  There will be door prize drawings throughout the day for great gifts from local merchants. We have 6 car categories that will be judges with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies in each category. There is also a Best of Show Trophy and an Ugliest VW Trophy to be awarded.

Harmony Motors, the Asheville, North Carolina, VW Dealership will be on hand with VW stuff. They are also bringing their Tie-Died Bug for everyone to take a peek at.

How do you register? I am glad you asked.

On-site registration directions are on the attached flyer. But if you just can’t wait, you may register online now at   http://visitcherokeenc.com/buy-tickets/ . Once you are registered, all you will have to do to get in to the show is show us your printed copy of your completed registration.

If you're there at 5pm, you will probably hear a whistle, see him stand up, put on a business hat, grab his lunch box and walk away.
Or maybe I have watched too many cartoons.
