Cherokee Campout 2016 July 29-31 indiancreekcampground

Whats the plan for this year?  Anyone started thinking about this yet?

This is Eric's baby. Hopefully he has thought about it. What is funny I just came here to check on dates of events to put on the calender. This will be one of them.

I haven't had any chance to think about it yet. I know the campground is closed for the winter, so I'm not sure what their schedule and availability is like. I'm up for doing again, about the same time, just need to check what will be the best.

Count me in. Had a great time last year.

I was talking with Jonathan about it last weekend and we'd love to come back for this. Last year, this coincided with High Country Bus Festival which we attended and as part of our Blue Ridge Parkway tour and then came back down for this campout. If it coincided on the same weekend again (July 30-31) we would love to do the trip again. So I'd like to vote for that.

I'll try and look into some dates as soon as they open. They have a trout tournament up there every year and the campsite is packed full for that weekend. It doesn't appear to always fall on the same weekend each year so I just need to find out when that is. It may already be listed on their website, but I've been swamped lately so haven't had time to dig around. I'll try for the 30-31 weekend if it's open!

The visitcherokee site show the July tournament is happening mid month this year and the kids tournament is early August, so should be clear.

Campsite opens March 23, but may be able to call and make reservations a little earlier.

Excellent! I'd love to run the BRP again. Anyone who wants to join us, feel free. I plan to post it here and on Samba as a very casual "jump in if you can event".

Last year it was just great to make the run up and then end it by camping with you guys.

I got site 1B. Jonathan and I will be cruising the BRB again this year starting on Wednesday, if anyone wants to join we will be glad to meet up.
