Cherokee 2014 camping trip. August 8-10

Super bummed. No show was on Cherokees 2014 calendar so I called the visitors center and was told there were no plans to hold the show again this year.  .

Guess we'll just have to plan our own gadubs trip.

Well dang, I love driving that area too.

What we need is a GA Dub focused camp out. Like at a state park or something. These big shows are fun and I'd like to make it to BAP this year as I really liked No Dough last year, but it seems like we have a lot of campers on here. A "local" camp would be fun...

Yeah, They told me to keep checking the calendar as they may add it, but they said it probably wouldn't happen. the show at Cherokee wasn't really the highlight of the trip, the camping was more what it was about. I'm cool with going back just as a group, don't need a show to have a good time!

X2.   I say we just put together a trip and camp out at the regular site and hangout for a weekend!!   

Yes! lets do it. I have always wanted to go to that show and something always comes up. I love the pictures from up there, plus I can take the wife and stay in the cabin.

Do we have to wait til August? Someone put a date out there and let's go.

Too many shows coming up, hard to pick a good date, lol. That's why august worked so good, cause it was a kind of an open time. I'm definitely up for making a trek back up that way if it fits in the ol schedule. Let's get planning.

The show was usually on the second weekend of August so that would put it on the 8th-10th. I am up for keeping plans for going and camping. We can always ride over to Gatlinburg to hang out for a while on Saturday instead of the show.

I would be up for the trip, I'm busy the next 8 weeks or so working in California so I will be missing everything this spring.

They have cabins there as well, that's what I plan to do.

Ok, called today. The first weekend (august 1-3), there is a kids trout fishing tournament, and the sites are pretty well already picked over. There were only two water/electric sites available.

There was much better availability the next weekend (8th-10th), so that would probably be better. I'll do what I have to and change up my work schedule if this works for everyone else.

If you're really interested, please let me know if Aug 8th-10th would work for you.

well I'm booked up and ready to go for the nights of August 8 and 9!  It's only a $10 cancellation fee if you need to cancel prior to 2 weeks out, so I said what the heck.  

I got site 6.  there are a lot of sites currently open.  
When I just called, these sites were still open.  You can view the site map on their website.
1a, 1b, 3, 3a, 3b, 4, 5, 17, 19, 20 .  I've usually always stayed on 19, but I wanted a creek front site this time, so I changed it up.

Hey Pat, cabin 16 was also currently open. I didn't ask about the other ones, but they may still be open as well.

Some friends from Tennessee just got site 3, so that one is gone now as well.
