Re: '76 Westy
Installed the retainer pins and replaced the soft lines. Still had the overheating problem on the passenger side.
Swapped the drums and the overheating problem moved to the driver's side.

Did ya wear gloves?
LOL...
I know that is a nasty job when the seals have died.
Are you replacing with new or just rebuilding those?

Re: '76 Westy
I'll see what they look like once I start breaking them down. I have new boots. If the CVs aren't too pitted I'll just rebuild them.
Re: '76 Westy
the easiest way to get that funky grease off your hands is rub it in your hair just havnt fingered out how to get it out my hair but my hands are clean
Re: '76 Westy
The only place I have enough hair to sufficiently clean that much grease off is on my back and I can't quite reach it with my hands.DOODLE BUGG wrote:... rub it in your hair
Re: '76 Westy
I had the catalytic converter stolen from my truck so Pippi has become my daily driver for at least the last few days while the truck is in the shop. Really enjoying driving her around.
I haven't had a glove box for over a year so I fabricated on out of 1/4" plywood today and installed it.

Re: '76 Westy
I just love it when you start on one project and it ends up leading to several others and you still never get around to the first project.
Started to install a stereo and realized that I didn't have my little four way defroster duct installer so I started working on that.
Then I got under that car to inspect the rest of the heat ducts. Made a few repairs.
Then noticed that a couple of the allen bolts had loosened up on my CV joints So I had to tighten them back down.
Went to reinstall my heater blower and decided to relocate it so it din't get in the way of the oil filler cap. moved it to the left a little near the coil. Note to self. Pick up some heater hose.
Came in a cleaned up and didn't even open the stereo box.

Re: '76 Westy
Got a new dash and some replacement switches from Hobug over the weekend. Installed them today after work.
I also rebuilt the rear light. The one I got from the Bugs4Christ guys was discolored and cracked but the internals worked. My internal were corroded but the lens looked good. So I took all the good part to make this one. Warning!! if you attempt this take pictures before and color code the wires. Every wire is white and really easy to hook up incorrectly.

Re: '76 Westy
I decided that Pippi needed some ink. So I gave my little brother a handful of Sharpies.

Re: '76 Westy
Yeah he really does. I've been trying to talk him into doing this for a couple years now and finally convinced him that there is no way I'd be disappointed in anything he did.
Re: '76 Westy
He wanted to get started so I'd have something new for Cruise the Coop. But he probably won't be finished until Bugapaluza.
