Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Just posting pictures related to the bus from the camping trip to keep the thread current.
Banjo Country
Drove the bay all over the place today. Went to find the covered bridge and punched in the wrong location and went off roading into banjo country.
Finally found the bridge and it was awesome. Sign said the longest and oldest covered bridge in Georgia.
Last stop of the evening an antique shop next to a defunct BBQ place. Found an awesome piece of luggage for 5 bucks that will house my amp and 6x9s.

Built my suitcase radio today. Wired it up so I can plug it into a cigarette lighter and its on so it is portable from car to car. Runs off my ipod.
Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Bridge pictures are awesome, and that radio is nice too. How's it sound?

Here is the inside of the suitcase.Pretty simple setup power and ground through the cigarette plug with a jumper to the remote tab on the amp. Ipod plugs in through a splitter to the input side of the amp and then two speaker wires.
Also started working on the brakes today. Didn't get far though.....broke my 1/2" ratchet and breaker bar on the second rear drum. I am replacing all shoes, wheel cylinders and brake hoses.

I broke two 1/2" breaker bars on Michael's '67 rear drums- can be a little discouraging

Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
I just did the rear on mine and broke a 1" shank breaker then, found out the day after that on this 74, it is not necessary to remove the axle nut to remove the drum......

Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
3/4" breaker with 3 foot of jack handle on the end of it got it no problem today....all the time I had today to work on it though. When I get back on Friday from Hilton Head I am going to try and finish up the brakes.

Yeah man I appreciate it
Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Brakes are done. I put new wheel cylinders, brake shoes and hoses all around. Also fixed the speedometer as it had come loose. I repacked the front bearings and fixed the e-brake. Now I need to get some heat hooked up, fix the fuel gauge, and fix the oil leak and I think everything will be working on it.

You're sure knocking it out.
