Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Yeah it did quiet it down a good bit.
I hope to get the time to try and solve the oil leak this week....if not I guess I will just be bringing lots of oil for the trip this weekend. I also want to install the rear hatch seal if/when it comes in....

Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Went camping last weekend at High Falls. Just a short drive from the house but it was really nice.
Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Pulled the engine out today and tore it down. Number one rod bearing was smoked. I am preparing a dual port to go in. I hope to get it in by the weekend but we'll see.
Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Pulled the rear wheel bearing assemblies apart on leon to repack/replace the bearings. Went ahead and slotted the spring plates while I had room. With the slots in the spring plate I was able to free the brake lines and install a set of horseshoe plates so I can regain some suspension. Previously I had the spring plates just bottomed out after cutting out the bump stops. Couldn't locate new wheel seals so I have to wait until Monday to go grab some and reinstall everything.
Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Finally pulled the trigger and bought a TV for the bus.

As soon as I get my bus in shape I'll be dropping it off to you for this upgrade! Tv in a bus would be sweet!

Finally got the skim board table mostly done..... I am still going to pull the board off and sand and repaint it.....may even put a logo on it
Also since we are going to do some beach camping this summer we picked up and indoor ac unit....it fits great between the front seats and to vent it just crack the front window and run the exhaust hose out

Re: 1970 Bay Window "Leon"
Pulled the engine again.....Pulled the cylinder tins and torqued the heads and put it all back together and back in the bus. I just hope that fixes the hot start issues.....
Also installed my gray grass carpet!
