VW Junk yard on Dalton / Cleveland Hwy.

Went to Alvin's pretty cool guy. Got a timing strip and temp sensor and 2 hubcaps (only had 20$ cash). Anyone in the area wanna ride to chatsworth to look at my bus? Won't even crank now. I'll buy us a pizza as we work?!

Put the timing strip on.
Check your points and see if the plastic cam follower is broken off.
Are you sure you are getting spark?

I have a elec dizzy. I hooked up a spark tester as I crunk and it was working so Im guessing I am getting spark. Occasionally it will back fire. And it does smell strong with gas. Removed the line going into the fuel press reg and turned it over filled about 1/4 of a bottle up with one bump so its getting gas to the other side. Next thing I know to do is pull out the injectors and bump it over and see if they spray? Frustrating! If this was a reg ol 1600 I woulda done been on the road!

You stated that you changed out the dizzy.
Did you set it to TDC when you pulled it out and reinstalled?
I have a timing light, but will not be available this week.
How long did you run it with the timing "ear-set"?

I havnt gotten it to even fire up since installing the dizzy. The dizzy gear came out with it also reckin I somehow got that gear put back in incorrectly? What confuses me is when im tdc on my bus the rotor is pointing basically back towards you (if your looking from the hatch) and to the right..but on my beetle its actually pointing towards the number one cylinder on the actual motor. Are they diff in that way or should the bus be pointing back that way also?
