She ran under her own power today! And had brakes. Still need a new exhaust and going to have to raise the rear back up slightly.

Re: 57 coming out of hiding. Time to work on it
Looks great but it looks like there are no grease caps . Those are important.
Re: 57 coming out of hiding. Time to work on it
Grease caps will have to be modified. But, i havent used grease caps on my vert in 4 years. Once the center caps are on, no dust will be able to get in. On these older cars everything has to be modified. Skinny drums so i had to cut down all my lug bolts. Spindles stick out way past the drum. Etc, etc.

Not hardly. The pictures make it look good but the paint is shot. I dont care though. It drives good. A little more time buttoning everything up and maybe I can drive it for real. Of course the stupid MSD box wont let the engine shut off when I turn the ignition off. Didnt do it in the other car, but it does in the oval. Now I have to go to Radio shack and get a diode. Yippy. Yet another piece of non original wiring to clutter up the car.

Reindexed the rear again. Still low but has a little more spring tension. Pulled off carbs and intake to fix an intake leak. Back together now awaiting synch. Started working on the old cracked steering wheel. Never tried to fix one before so this should be interesting.

So I drove her for about 45min to an hour of solid driving. The engine needs tuned but she ran without any issues. Well, other than the exhaust hanging too low and the Berg shifter driving me nuts.

Re: 57 coming out of hiding. Time to work on it
I used PC7 two part epoxy. I got it a little too thick in some places because I tend to be impatient. It sands down ok, but it doesnt sand as fast as the steering wheel, so you have to be careful. I am having a hard time getting the paint to dry though. Not sure why. Now if I could only figure out how to fix the cracked horn button.
