Rubber boot (bellows) at front end of transmission?
I just removed the gear shift and rods from under my 71 Bus (Max). After looking thru various sites I ordered boots (bellows) and bushings from Bus Depot, good prices compared to a cast of thousands out there.
Question: I took the bellows, "what remained of it", off the front of the trans and it did not look like the boots (2) for the shift rod. Bus Depot said I could use the same boot to cover the area between the coupler and trans.
Anyone had this problem before? Will this work? Can't find a bellows for that location.
Thanx
Be safe.

Re: Rubber boot (bellows) at front end of transmission?
The Germans at VW Factory are very smart, I found the remains of the boot I spoke about and found a product number on the leading edge of the rubber #211711183A. It apparently is the same or similar to 183B, the shifter boots.
