Those wheels are very cool. I like the early Rabbit Cabriolets.

I am just puzzeled by these wheels, they look ALOT like phone dials but are 13" and have the correct 4 lug?
Anyone ever seen ones like these before.
I am going to pull them and see who made them, but I just haven't had the time since I got it (PM on Saturday...)
Front brakes feel like they are dragging and the engine runs like a car that was pulled out of a barn should... runs but gas was NASTY.
Gonna check it all out. was parked about 9 years ago and top and interior are great. NO CRACKS ON DASH, OEM paint and is a Wolfsburg Ed., has the 4 button horn (a la GTI.) Gonna be looking for a black boot for the top and a few other things...
Thanks for the warm welcome, anyone with any xperiences with these?

Gonna do the basics, change out the vaccume hoses change the fuel filter. I'll let you know if this helps my accelleration problems.
Thanks for the offer, I'll probably have some questions.

Good find. That thing looks clean. Run some sea foam in the gas and put some plugs in it. If has sat for any period of time the fuel dizzy could be gummed a little. If you need a top i have a brand new black vinyl top in stock cheap. Between me and david we have a few of these laying around so let us know if you need anything.

Yeah, I adjusted the CIS WAY too much and I have to pull the injectors again and dial it in...
I may just buy David's CIS if the other guy doesn't get the one off the running one.
Do you have an extra CIS (non-e) fuel distributor?
The one I have is just starving the engine, (plugs looked lean...)
Thanks,
KC
(the top is pretty good on this one, but the seats are splitting on the stitching, any thing you can do about that?

Yes sir we can recover them, David car is cis-e. Is that what you need? It ran great when he parted it . You need to do some research on vortex and see what parts can interchange from the two. What was it doing before you adjusted it?

It was ideling great and had little stumbling, but had no power under load.
I adjusted the flap arm like 3 turns and back and now I seem not to be getting any fuel out of the injectors.
I have pump in pressure, and I have pressure at the bleed off valve for the back to tank flow... The little sylinoid on the side seems not to be getting any power, but I believe that it may just not be in to it's cycle.
I am planning on wiring up a sylinoid bypass for the fuel pump, pull the injectors on the engine (again...) and then dial the adjustment screw in and out untill I see some movement from the injectors. If the injectors do not ever seem to get juice, then I'll just look into getting a new CIS distributor.

OK, do either of you know if an early carb and manifold from a 1.6 gas ('75-'80) engine is a direct bolt on to my '82 1.7L gas?
Is an 8 valve head the same intake pattern for all 1.6, 1.7,and 1.8?
thanks,
KC
Looking forward to tooling around in this thing soon.

All 8v's should be the same. I have a manifold. If you get an adapter you can put a progressive 32/36 on it.

OB - that would be great, if you can get me a name for the aftermarket one, LT How much do you want for the carbie mani?
I dialed in the injectors this evening after work, (I had unscrewed the adjuster bolt = not good.) any way after about 1 hour of dissassebling the CIS box again, and setting the screw and yes there is a trick, I got the injectors spraying well, they are drippy a little at the end, but if I barely tap them, then they stop, I am thinking that they will clear up as I drive it more.
I am still having a low power issue though. The car is much better, but it is a little weaker than I expected. Car reves fairly smoothly, has some sputtering at 2K RPM range, and is soo much better.
I am hoping that the gas is still a little dead, I drained out as much as I could and refilled with fresh and put an entire bottle of Seafoam in it.
I wish I would have had it ready for today, but tommorow is going to be nasty. I still need to put the new lights in.
Any way, I am interested in having a carbie as a spare set up.
Thanks guys.

I'll take 40.00 for it and i have an old holley 2brl off of a dodge omni that fits this manifold. The float is stuck and it needs to be cleaned but it could be revived.

Also,
My uper and lower bearing assemblies seem to be shot and appart on the steering column, any advice or part #'s for the bearings, the lower one looks easier than the upper one...

I think we are going to the sugar hill show this weekend. I guess that carb is worth 20.00 if you want it. Holley does not offer a rebuild kit for it anymore but napa has one.
