It looks like i need to do some more investigation before slamming po volks on the internet,
If kenny's not there and its just the other guys from northlake working there i would have no problem going there.

Kenny is trying to sell everything because he is closing down. If you need any parts give him a shout because he has a lot of stuff.

Go Herrell bug parts in carrolllton...save yourself the hassel at those other places...never ever had any trouble from these guys and have bought from them for years.

just wanted to give an update:

rebuilt 40hp stock is running great.

I ended up going to a non specialty vw shop on a friends recommendation.

So far im happy with the work they did and the price was lower than any other quotes i got.
The guys there are all really cool and have a couple other vw projects. a vw trike- and a sweet looking red karma.

Hi, the best man I found for the job lives in Euharley. His name is Rodger. Been building motors forever. Stands behind all of his work. Could not find a nicer guy. Will talk VW's with ya all day long. Has helped me out alot of problems I couldn't figure out. He is holding a small stud block for me. Going to have him build a 1776 for my bus this winter. ... I can testify for Roger's engines. My family has four of Roger's rebuilds and they are all giving great service.

He does not do high performance work, but is a VW trained tech with much dealership experience. He likes to do exchanges, but I have bought outright from him as well.

He will exchange your 1600 for around $600. That is a very decent price for the quality he puts into his builds. He likes "good faith" shown when ordering (cash deposit). "Some people's eyes are bigger than their wallets" he says.

He is actually in Taylorsville, just off of Ga. Hwy. 113 between Cartersville and Dallas.
