High Oil Temp in 1.8 liter bus

So I finally got my Dakota Digital gauges in (only took me 2 years) With lots of help, I finally have my CHTs under control but I've noticed my oil temp gets to 240-250 when cruising between Jefferson and Athens (about 1/2 drive time). My speed is usually around 60mph.


timing is at 28 deg with the hoses removed.

any thoughts? I may try advancing the timing a bit.

If your in 4 the gear your fan speed might be too slow to keep It cool. Also is your engine compartment sealed uP properly and heater boxes and blower fan ducts all working and connected correctly. Make sure your theemoste and flaps are working correctly

hmm, in 4th gear, the engine is turning about 3800 rpm at 60.

engine seal is in place, heater connections in place, no thermostat but the left flap is screwed in place in the "hot" position.

We had the engine apart a year or so ago and the oil cooler looked clean then.

all good suggestions though, keep them coming

Wow that rpm is up there . OK one size up on main jet might be running lean at top end at that rpm.
