Long time Camaro/Trans Am guy, now got a 71 Bus.
I was told about this site when trolling around the samba and also a guy that bought a sink from me that is up in Johns Creek with the same year model bus told me about this site. I purchased this 71 for my wife who has always wanted a old vehicle for herself. It has dents and dings, surface rust and is missing the engine, windshield and front headlight rings but that is about it. We are going to get it running and make it mechanically sound then pretty it up as much as the budget allows for now. I got a bucket full of parts and two good doors to replace the originals (they are shot). I'm not a pro but can learn and look forward to working on something different. It is nice to find a site with local folks. I like to do cruise ins and just go out and drive. I'll do shows but over the last 12 years just kind of got burned out on watching old men jockey and politic for a $10 trophy. I'm more about the people. Anyway, look forward to it with this bus and hope to see some of you out and about. I'm in Douglasville.

Welcome. They are surely to be plenty of cruises and such now that the show season is starting back up. Just keep a watch on the Events forum for any shows and meets that are coming up.

Welcome to the site. Looks like a fun project. I'm the same way about the shows. I don't care about getting a trophy, although I've never had anything nice enough for a trophy. I just enjoy going to the shows for the swap meets and to socialize with my VW family.
