Black Friday 67 Kombi

Went 1400+ miles to pick this one up.  Very surprised at the how nice it is being from upstate Ohio.  The guy I got it from told me that he bought it from a guy that had stored the bus for 20+ years in a warehouse.  It has a good many dents and they all look to of came from storage....forklift or pallets....It is in original paint from what I can tell.  It has had the cargo rocker replaced and the cargo floor has been patched up.  Both are solid but both will be coming back out.  I have to get a lower drivers door hinge to get the door back on, but I think Phil has me one.  Also have to get some cargo hinges as one door has been cut off but the other half of the hinges are missing. Both cargo doors need lower metal replacement and the cargo door still on the bus is tweaked pretty good from one of the dents and may need replacing.

Yeah man after seeing your skills on your corners I might need some help working out some dents in my rear corners.

Got some hinges from Phil today. I got the bottom drivers hinge on so I could at least mount the door temporarily. My upper hinge had to be removed heated and pounded back straight. Thanks again Phil!

Got some help from Josh tonight. He worked out most of the dents and creases in the corners.  There is still more work to be done but its a bunch closer.

Looks good!! At the rate you are going it should be ready for the coop this weekend.....

Havent touched this one other than slowly buying pieces for it....I am in no rush to build it as I am keeping this one....I did get the wheels painted and mounted up the 6.70-15s that I had bought for the single.  Going to ride this high!

Finished installing the other wheels and spliced the cargo hinges that I picked up off the samba onto the door...... Got all the doors mocked up now and out of the way....still have to grind the welds on the hinges

Also Phil let me borrow his passenger seat bottom so I could get one made.  The price on passenger walk thru seat are outrageous! Mike actually made this one and it turned out fantastic!  Thanks again Mike!  Now I just need to make the seat back and figure out my springs.....
