What's up guys and gals? I just picked up my 63 Kombi and was looking for a little help. I am somewhat mechanically inclined but at a loss when it comes to electrical stuff. I am having an issue with the battery getting drained. When i start up the engine and unplug the hot wire to the battery the engine cuts off, and i'm told this means that maybe the alternator (yes it's an alternator) isn't charging. Anyone in the area have some input or would like to come point out stuff for me.

I look forward to meeting some of y'all at local shows and cruises. Let me know.

Thanks again.

It won't run with the cable disconnected with an alternator....it will only do that with a generator.
Get a volt meter on it and see what the battery voltage is after being fully charged....then what it is while running
