New safari windshields for bugs
unfortunatly they don't have them for a '68. If they did I'd be all over one.

Yeah, they pretty much ripped on this particular sellers quality of frame on the Samba. Didn't sound very good at all. And the seller agreed that the frame in quesiton may not have been the best but says he has improved on his skills. If anyone buys one, make sure there is a money-back guarantee. Then post up here and let us know what you think.

Well I read it and some people are satisfied. I believe it depends on your mechanical skills.
I've thought about building one from scratch but I can't see how to make the hinge waterproof.
I believe the guy is using Mexie/Beetle hood and deck-lid rubber for the seal.

Yeah, it sounds like his newer one's are better. Still, without flying over to Cali and seeing it in person first, I would not buy a new part that expensive with an "all sales final" clause. If it is a quality product that the seller is proud of, he should stand behind it. I can totally understand the "as is - all sales final" clause on used parts or cars, but not on a new product.

I've seen a few (in pictures) like the one above, built using popout frames. I'm not 100% sold on the look of the pop-out frame up front, but that seems like a very good way to go. That gives you a seal all the way around including the hinge area. I've read that people put the pop-out frames in the oven for a little bit and it softens them up and makes it easy to re-bend and form around the windshield.
