Sightings: Kinda like UFOs only for VWs instead.

I've been seeing a lot of unfamiliar VWs in the local area lately and I figured I start a thread to call out fellow enthusiasts and let them know they're not alone in the universe and we would like them to join us in our love of all things VW.

So I'll start off.


When: Oct 20 2008, around 3pm.
Where: GA-20/81 near I-75
What: Early bay window Westy bus. Deep Blue with a white top.

where: atlanta rd next to nas atlanta and lockeed martin in marietta
when: today 5pm
what: blue and white top split bus

i think he works at lockeed martin right next to my shop, theres a yellow bay window in that compound ive met him though, i will let him know about the site next time i see him at the gym

When we picked up our Westy in SC I followed a work in progress, beautiful, tan and white double cab on a trailer that got off on the hwy 53 exit of 85. He lost me heading into Winder.

They were friends with Malik from the southside I think. They got there not long after you left.

The sign said "Make Offer", I said 5 bucks he said "no" so I can only assume that it's more than 5 bucks.

What: White Bug with roof rack. Driver was wearing a bright yellow jacket, sunglasses, and hat


Tried to snap a pic but they had a green light so it didn't work out

Where: 155 going toward Griffin right after Hampton Locust Grove Rd
What: 68-later Yellow Beetle

Yesterday b4 I spent the day at the hospital

Place : just south of Tacoma Wa. on the side of the Hgwy
What : early 60's model patina (slammmmmed)
Why : the Left rear wheel was ?? missing the car was laying on the ground looked like the wheel fell off and thats where it landed, but the brake drum was still intact so maybe camber broke the lugs??

where: Buford: turning on to hwy 20 east bound from Buford hwy north bound.

I think I have seen this one before up that way so probably local. Last time they waved at me but I only saw as I passed them going the other way, this time I didn't catch them due to the ridiculous number of traffic lights on that particular stretch of road.

when: Nov 21st just before 6pm.
what: yellow bay, looked like stock height, running empi 5 spokes.
where: parked outside Clanton Fast Brake in Cumming

Not in person, but saw a MexiBeetle on the big screen today. When you see James Bond in Quantum of Solace, a Beetle makes a brief appearance with James Bond in it. Suprisingly, it ISN'T destroyed but that must be because James isn't driving it.

What: Light colored (blue I think) Beetle being unloaded form a car hauler.
When: Dec. 2 about 5pm
Where: Just off McGarity Rd. (Christie Rd. possibly) in Mcdonough. Load of rapidly thawing food prevented me from stopping and welcoming you to the hood.
