Blinkers question... Empty Blinkers question...

All My blinkers on 68 bug quit working so it begins.... I labeled all the wires going to fuse block pulled them off and wire brush all terminal ends and cleaned / brushed fuse block....... (only had the car 2 weeks now)The right side blinkers now are functioning properly...For the first time the blinker indicator in speedo now blinks with the right blinker... it will not blink with the left indicator but the drivers front does blink... the drivers rear does not blink... The hazards do not work at all but I think that is another mess of its own... I pulled drivers rear and the bulb is new and the tabs have all been cleaned recently... everything was pretty shiny looking.... any clue where to start? I dont have any manuals yet... i will buy a bentley when i have some more money for this thing

The basic thing is to check your fuses and grounds

Sorry... I guess I should have been more specific... I am not very versed in Vw electrical but I obviously have enough sense to do some things... like I said I labeled every wire going into the fuse box....wire brushed each wire till clean... removed fuse buss.... soaked it in Awesome cleaner for a few..... blasted with water..... wire brushed it all till clean /shiny... Dielectric grease lightly on every terminal.. put it all back together....So I guess the basic thing is to check my fuses and grounds aye? The drivers rear is where i'm having a problem currently... The tail light assembly lights up for running/brake lamps but will not blink with blinkers.... pulled assembly brushed wires clean(they looked clean anyways) applied a little bulb grease to connections.... still no go...So exactly how would I test this to eliminate the problem? As I said the indicator in the speedo will not flash with the left side but will flash in speedo with right.?

X2, look in the engine compartment behind the fire wall on the bad side, not behind the engine , but beside the engine there are connections there as well
