8th Annual Poker Run May 12

It is time once again to sign up for the Poker Run. It will be run on May 12th. As always we will start in Helen GA behind the Best Western. Start time is 10:00am. A lunch stop is part of the run. (bring your lunch money)

Once again the host hotel is the Best Western. The rate is $65.00. Call and tell them you are with the Athens VW Club. 706 878 2111 Be sure to call this number and not the general Best Western reservations number.
They have a block of rooms for us both Friday and Saturday night.

Cost is $25.00 per person drawing cards if you sign up before April 27. The cost is $30.00 after April 27. If you are not playing, there is no cost; however, we ask that at least one person per car plays. Entry fee gets you a chance at some nice prizes, a great cruise thru the mountains, and an event T-shirt.


If you plan on participating please PM Clyde or me your shirt size. Extra shirts are available for $10.00 each. Please include shirt sizes for extra shirts.

To register please send Clyde your payment (cash or check please), your name, your shirt size, # of shirts, email address, year and model car you will be driving, and your phone number.

Going to try and have the yellow sub ready so that I can use the Poker Run as a shakedown. But who knows if that will actually happen.

My family and I are really looking forward to this years Poker Run. Unfortunetly we missed the last two years. If you have never been to a AthensVWClub PokerRun you should make this one your first. Shirts are ordered, room is booked, starting to relax..............looking forward to the ride thru the mountains.

I have not mentioned the post-run cookout. Every year the we put on a cookout for everyone who wants to hang around and eat after the run.
There is no cost. Bring your own beverages, but other than that we provide hamburgers and chips, etc. We do the cookout at the Best Western. Plan to stay if you like to eat.
