Re: My New Bus, Finally!
Picked up the '70 today, got it home and into the barn. Thanks to Eric, Bryce and Curt for your help. Eric, Bryce can't thank you guys enough for your help. I'll have to take some pics tomorrow. Eric took this one while we were strapping it down. Good times! Nothing like the thrill of a new baby.

No roll away bus this time? Looks good, is it a lot better than your other bus?

This was the opposite of the roll away bus. Had a locked up rear wheel and we had to drag/bounce it over to the trailer and then give the winch a helping hand.

Re: My New Bus, Finally!
Shaky, no run away Bus.
Well crap my PC died Sunday morning so no pics for a few days.
I did work on the Bus yesterday for about 4hrs. Mainly assessing what needs to be done but I did start by removing the door handles, Deluxe trim, trim clips, etc. I went through a box of zip lock bags. Luckily the PO or the PO before him baged and marked a lot of the bolts and screws so I'll be able to make heads and tails out of those. The passenger door panel had never been off, the plastic was still intact, also the hatch lower panel had never been off. I'm taking pics as I'm doing things just have to upload them later. This Bus is really nice, all org doors, it did have a nice little fire in the engine bay so someone bought a replacement engine lid. The fire was intense enough to warp the lid, well the fireman might of warped it by prying it open. The lip is bent so I'm sure it was pryed open. The replacement lid looks to be Savannah Beige which is the color I'd like to paint this baby. It has Camper Slider windows that came with it and all the window seals, the brake system is new, M/C to Wheel Cylinders and even brake drums. Ball Joints, Tie Rod ends and the Steering box as well. Solex 34PICT3 carb, og Bosch 009 and an extra rear hatch with the glass. Set of Dual port heads the trans is apart but I have plans for the bell housing to make and engine test stand. All in all I think I did well by getting this Bus. I think I'll see if someone wants a project before wasting the '71.
I'll be making a parts list of Bus stuff to sell.

Re: My New Bus, Finally!
What a way to start the new year. I have a 70 Bay, front end damage I am using for parts. So far engine only and the doors to replace to one on my 71 bay - "Max". Need any other parts let me know. I am going to replace the sliding door window in the 71 bay with a louverd - jalousie window I just rebult and the other left side with the vent, to much rust, will be replaced with a full length window. Your color is almost exactly what my wife wants, a sand beige.
Can't figure how to send photos on the forum post. Send me your email and I will send you photos of the 70 bay.
Thanx
