BUS SHIFT ROD Empty BUS SHIFT ROD

does anybody know which way the offset knuckle at the back of the shift rod where it meets the trans should be turned? offset up or down??? i removed the shaft before and did'nt think it would be going back in so payed no attention during removal! scratch

It appears to be offset down. I've got a '76. Hopefully yours is the same and this helps you out.
