74 bus "playmate"

WOW ran the tracking # just now and FedEx picked up at WagensWest today, so I will get them on Monday, stopped bye Tims and he has made awesome progress and just basically waitng on the torsion arms to get her Monday

the beam is finished, got the spindles and torsion arms back from WW and up to Tim he got it all buttoned up and delivered last night, got home today and put some paint on it and slid it right in, Tim just couldnt stay away, he had to come see his work of art in its element, and we got it all in, minus finshing the brakes and the rear plates but we did get the measurements for the tires so I can buy them tomorrow, still waiting on the lug nuts from CIP1 that should be here Friday

yeah me and Tim both, we did'nt start on it til 830 or so and got it all knocked out other than an hour or so of work, but it's in, gonna suck but I think i'll end up waiting on damn lug nuts beleive it or not.

got the lug nuts today and I am about to go down stairs and try to get a wheel cylinder replaced that I F ed up while taking the brake line off then bleed the brakes and thats about it...maybe....hopefully...will update in a few hours keep your fingers crossed that all goes well!

hell yeah man all went pretty well tonight but did not get her done, I have a couple of bolts on the rear plates that got bugared up, so I will pick new ones up in the AM, hopefully get out of work at a decent time to get home and tighted those two bolts in place and finsh bleeding it; I did get it sat down on the ground to get the axle nut off to change the wheel cylinder and it is low, I can stare straight across the top of the bus, rear sits a bit higher with the beam all the way down but the front will have to come up probaly two clicks to allow for some travel, so it will be raking a bit but I don't mind for now, just want to get her back in the wind, and once I get caught up on some other pawned off projects on the other cars, I may go back and cut the frame to get it flat all the way round.

Sounds good to me. Lil Cuz has my 70 to get the front end down for me. Then to get it ready to go to Silver Dollar show.

Cave I have that old beam from that 74, if you want it to cut so you won't have to take any OG parts away from that virgin car

Well I got it on the ground and rolled it for the first time, she is low in front and is rubbing on a hollow hump so will be easy to hammer that up, but I am not happy the way the rear is, so I lifted her back up and I'm gonna try some new bolts and some spacers on ther rear plates, I just dont feel like its right

thanks I don't think it will be a problem rubing, its adjusted all the way down now, and it don't rub when turning just when they are straight and the hump it's hitting on will easily flatten...hopefully

its def getting there but the rear wheels do look a little odd in the pics but maybe its just the angle......

yeah, I got to do something, its definantly not right with the 3 1/2" plates, I have bought at least $12 in different bolts trying to get it right to no avail, no matter what io do there is a gap where the plates bolt in, i guess I may just give it a couple clicks because I am tired of messing with those damn plates.

just got off the phone with Doodle bug and he has enlightened me on what I was doing wrong, I have the plates right but the inner arm that goes to the center of the bus has to be in OG position or the angle is off, man a ton of bricks lifted off of me when he told me that, so now I can't wait to get home and get it "straight"

did get it staight, but not back down, i still have to bleed the brakes and do some touch up painting underneath to get places that got hit in the install; how ever I guess the plates when installed correctly push the wheel out a inch or so and now my new tires will not fit, I'm gonna roll the fender lip and try to push the fender out some to try to get it up in there, but is not looking good, but it is straight now and safe again which is the main part

I guess call me lucky but I put her down and they fit, there is not much room but they fit and don't rub, the front still rubs enough to rub the shoulder of the tire when my big ol butt is in there and a buddy up front but I sent him to the back of he bus and it was fine, but I will give it a bit of adjustment and it should't be a problem, felt good to get her roling again, and gave her a bath I'll shoot some picts tomorrow.
