Re: The start of the new project. The German Look is sold
Anyone know where one can get POR-15 locally? And a quart should do what I need to do. Is it still around $40 per quart?
Re: The start of the new project. The German Look is sold
Also seam sealer for the pans. Need some . Where to get it locally?
Re: The start of the new project. The German Look is sold
Use black paintable Silicone II by GE. I use it on my seams on the pans and as long as the metal is dry, oil free and clean it will seal and stay on. Make a wide bead like you were mig welding.

Just ran down to the Garage to check the can, and it was $44.95. 1 quart should cover the whole pan.

Thanks
Eric
Re: The start of the new project. The German Look is sold
Got the pans totally finished. The front beam is at BKR and Lindy is building my drop spindles. Should have all that back next week some time.
Going with the split case tranny and later model brakes.
Here are a few pics

Re: The start of the new project. The German Look is sold
Ok time to update. A lot has been going on. When I registered for BAP it said 46 days till Bug A Paluza.
That was like a slap in the face. Seeing that 4 of those days i will be out of town and then add in my days i work at the firehouse. That leaves me approx 32 days to have the car running and ready for the trip. Needless to say its crunch time again. I did this last year with the yellow German Look SB.
Here are a few picks of the progress. The pan will be complete Sunday after lunch. Just shoes and drums need to be put on. Take a look and if you find the urge to come help call me up or send me a PM

Looks great. The bow in the bowden tube looks a little excessive though.

Re: The start of the new project. The German Look is sold
Kyle Wed or Thursday would be good. I got some things today to get inside the hood all cleaned up and painted so I can start on the wiring this week
Re: The start of the new project. The German Look is sold
Are you painting it or just leaving the Patina?
Re: The start of the new project. The German Look is sold
If time permits i will do a black on the bottom faded in to the patina on the top. Might just leave it. A lot of work to do before i think of paint.
Want to help? LOL
