BK's 71 Square
So I thought I would start a thread of the build I am doing on this 71 square I just picked up.
The plan is to build repaint, new interior, built engine, slammed.
You know. The usual!
So this is what the car looked like when I picked it up.
After a few hours of scrubbing and the pressure washer. It started to look better. (7/30/10)
It was loaded with random crap in the front and back. Gotta love the transmission in the front seat!
I had to fight off the huge black carpenter ants too. That was fun!
This morning I started stripping out the interior. I got it pretty well cleaned out. (7/31/10)
The pans look pretty good. It is only surface rust. There is one bad spot in the drivers footwell and one hole in the rear deck between the seat and engine cover.
Overall, the car is pretty solid.
Now that it is cleaned out, I will get it in the garage so I can start the disassembly and patch any bad spots.

Re: BK's 71 Square
Yeah. I am tempted to throw the motor in and some quick interior and then roll it but I have ideas of a bright color for it.

Re: BK's 71 Square
The SP2 moved to the daylight basement shop.
So the square got to move into the garage so I can start tearing it down.
It should make the neighbors happy to have it out of the driveway.

Re: BK's 71 Square
I've been busy with the grinder stripping down the interior and floorboards the last couple of weeks. Just ordered my MasterSeries so I can start coating everything.
I will be happy to get the interior primed and ready so I can start on the exterior.

I used the MasterSeries products on my 74 and was happy with the result. Just don't get any on ya and make sure to have good ventilation when you apply it, or better yet, use a respirator. That stuff is tough on the ole lungs........
