October 18th meet

We are changing the plans for the 18th. We will cruise to the Smith House another time because I did not realize it but on the 18th it is the Goldrush festival in Dahlonega. The town will be packed with over 200,000 people and the main part will even be shut down. I just think it would be better to reshedule this one.So, here is the new plans. We are going to meet at Discover Mills on the 18th between 4 and 4:30P.M. pulling out at 4:30 and have a nice cruise to go have dinner at the Marietta Diner. This is supposed to be an awesome 50's style diner with great food. It was even featured in the Food Channels showDiners, Drive Ins, and Dives. This will be a dinner run and it should be a good oppurtunity to get some cool pictures. This place looks really cool and even cooler once the sun goes down. Sounds like a great time. I already have plans, Widespread panic concert that weekend (and its my birthday!)

But back to the event...I talked to a buddy that lives up that way and used to work at the smith house....Just FYI.

Not sure if they know this or not but that weekend is the annual Gold Rush festival…there will be 1000’s of people in the square- and it will be VERY hard to get into town and find a parking spot…it’s fun- but maybe not the best time to find a place to park your vdub.

I am guessing somewhere between 5:30 and 6. They know were coming so if you get there before us just let them know you are with the Bug club.

I had a great time tonight and I hope everybody got home safely. The food was great (and lots of it) and hanging out with everybody was even better. Great pictures Greg and I will try to get mine posted tomorrow.

hey gary did you see the airheads are having a tech day/bonfire on the 1st of next month, lets see if we can get a couple of aircooled addicts to make that triip and hang out with some other VW addicts.

Yeah the more the better! I am off the same exit as Y U Bugg'N so it will be a little bit of a drive for you guys but I think it will be worth it.

well i think its worth the trip to just hang out with other VW addicts like myself so count me in and im going to talk to gary about it ok
