Y U Bugg'N this year.....?

I have become too busy to do this show by myself. I am stepping down from it. If anyone else would like to step up and run it then I would be more than happy to help but I just don't feel like running it this year

I have a few ideas to link up local events up with the show to create a weekend show.... Maybe this thread can be used for ideas for the show also.

A location needs to found....!

Let's talk about it Sat. I don't mind doing it, I just need to know the exact dates to make sure I have the time off.

We have the Rodeo venue here in McD off of hwy 81.
Bryce , Ashley and I spoke with a lady last year who has a parent that works with the parks and rec and said she thinks she could poss get that venue however we would need a date or dates, just a thought ask your wife if she remembers who it was.

Glenn I could help you work on this in a McDonough setting, I can poss even get NAPA to donate give aways like they did in the past. I can also talk to a trophy co. about trophys. Bryce do you remember that trophy I have that looked like a beetle, if so I can see if they are still avl.

Is there a reason to "NOT" do this at Summit?

I'm up for helping out with whatever is needed. Like Glenn said, we can all discuss it tomorrow.

Summit would be perfect BUT they won't allow any other vendors. Which is the main reason to have a VW show.

Who is this "Old Volks Place" person? Are they a member of the club?

I think Heritage park would be perfect for a show. I just wish we could find somewhere that we could set up some camping and I don't think they'll let that fly over there.

YES BRYCE MIKE AND I HAD ALREADY DISCUSSED THIS THE OTHER DAY AND HAVE A FEW IDEAS. WE DO NEED TO FIND A LOCATION. CITY OF GRIFFIN WOULD ALLOW THE USE OF THE PARK IN THE PAST...NOT SURE IF THAT IS STILL AVAILABLE OR NOT. WE WOULD LIKE TO BRING IN SOME VENDORS AND GET SOME SPONSORS ON BOARD AS WELL. I was in need of parts last year close to the date of Y U Buggin and was talking to Lindy, asked him if he knew about it(YUB) and he didn't. He wanted to come but had a family thing and couldn't make it. He told me to get in touch with him for the next one and he would be interested in some possible sponsorship. Lets not forget to give him a call. The economy has changed so he may not be able to this year but we need to see at any rate.

I think Eric(flux) was going out to his shop that day for some parts and was picking up my parts and took him a Flyer. He put it up in his store section.

Bug Blast in Alabama is in August. It was on the 22nd last year.

Did they have 2 last year? The stevenson bug blast website shows it as being on June 5-7 last year.

I am with david on this issue, sometime in aug would be great,it needs to be when there are not many shows so we can draw alot of people in,,plus I would love to have this advertised in hot vw's,so aug would give us some time,i agree with the first part of august,any other opinions?

I've thought that having it at AMS would really give us some exposure. Kind of like a Nopi weekend or something. These shows didn't start off big they built a following over the years. Some may have but most did not.

Would love to get out on the high banks.

it cost $25,000.00 for the rental of ams to do a show minimum,I dont think there is any way to do that,what david is talking about is have a cruize in @ams (the night before the show) during there friday night drag program,its a big car show and drag racing theme,they have about 10,000 people there on friday nights

i have calls in to Henry co. parks and rec. Spalding co. parks and rec. and the Kiwanis of Griffin(fairgrounds). am waiting to hear back from all of them.
