Re: My new 66 (Herbie)
Some of you know that before going to Bug Jam that my motor took a dump. I have been running a spare motor from the shop while I built a new engine. I finally finished it today and got it in It seems to be running great and just needs some carb. adjustments which I'll do tomorrow. I will post some pictures up soon.
It is a 1600 SP
balanced stock VW crank
lightned flywheel
stock cam
ported and polished (by me) stock heads
high rev valve springs (for ratio rockers down the road)
CB Performance rods
I rebuilt a orig. VW fuel pump
I also rebuilt an original 31 pict round bowl carb.
lots of powdercoating

I miss the the Number 53 pulley, but everything else looks great! Hope it runs as good as it looks, and Happy Holidays to you, Charity, Eli, Faith, and Hannah!

Re: My new 66 (Herbie)
Just got a set of HID's finally. They make such a difference it's unreal. The best part is I found these from a company locally here
in Lawrenceville for $65. Yep...$65 Here is a picture after I put the first one on. You really need to see them in person though. I know the pictures are crappy but it's raining and I don't want to get the camera wet.

Whats up....?
Nothing really. Herbie probably isn't going anywhere. I have just got real tired of trying to keep the paint looking nice. Everytime I wash it I see a bunch of new chips or some stain I am having trouble getting off. It is just a pain to keep the flat paint looking good.
I got mad a the other day when I washed Herbie (and found cracks in the paint) and when I came home I saw a Bug I liked on The Samba. I sent the guy a email and he liked Herbie. We met on Sat. in Greenville to see about doing the trade and I couldn't do it. Once I saw Herbie on the road being driven by someone else I said NOPE!. I explained to the guy and he understood and Herbie came home. I figured it wouldn't hurt to put an ad out there and see what comes up. You never know and it doesn't hurt to look

Well Herbie went to a new home today That was the only car I have ever really had a hard time letting go. He will definately be missed but I enjoyed every minute I owned him.
