My new 66 (Herbie)

I just wanted to post some pictures of the progress of my new 66 Bug. It is having a lot of work done
and is going to be a "hot rod" Herbie. He is having a new front clip put on and a lot of body work. It will be sprayed it's original color L87 pearl white which happens to be Herbies original color
The paint is going to be flat instead of gloss to keep with the hot rod look. I will keep posting pictures and it should be done soon. Billie at Stockornaut is doing all the work and is doing a great job. I highly recommend you check them out if you are in need of any work.

i found this reverse herbie today, and thought it was interesting.

black 'reverse' Herbie... when you make it negative in Photo Editor it looks just like Herbie...!

Can't wait to see the new look! Does it look like it will be ready this week?

I am hoping to be able to pick it up on Fri. but we will see. I had all the new window seals
except the door scrapers so Billie had to order them. If they get here in time I think he will have
it done.

Just some more updated pictures.It is getting the paint tonight and I should be picking it up Sat. sometime. Then in about another 2 weeks I will add the decals

Ok so not an exact figure but ball parkin it whats it costing to do this Im in need of a change to my bug but still on how to go about it

No not yet. This is actually the cars original color so the dash already matches. I am probabaly going
to do the interior grey later (dash and doors) because that is how the original Herbies were done.

Yeah, I remember reading that they painted the interiors grey to help keep the glare down when they filmed interior shots. Paint is looking great! And the apron looks great too!!

Well I picked Herbie up tonight and it looks GREAT!!! I should be able to do the graphics in a couple weeks hopefully. I will take some good pictures outside later.

Brushed trim

Gary that looks good. Looks like Billie did a good job.

Paint looked great!! I think the graphics will put it over the top!!

And I'm really diggin the brushed moldings, a pita but worth it imo........

It's not in yet and I am not real sure I am going to put it in. The motor in it is running real good and is a lot easier to tune if I need to.
I may just sell the big motor. Don't know yet.
