Anybody else ever tried this? I did it yesterday for a wheelbarrow tire. It was kinda scary but it worked just fine.

Offroaders have been using that trick for a while, you can tell by their lack of facial and arm hair

Yeah that's where I first saw it. A friend on mine knocked his tire off the rim in Moab about 30 miles from the nearest paved road.

Plus, those guys run so little air to get traction, it's easy to break the bead.

I've done that a few time and it's scary as hell. You have to be careful with the amount of ether you use.

Yeah I'll second that. I used about 1/2 second spray of ether on a wheelbarrow tire and it was plenty to get the job done.

That's why certified police officers wear specialized suits and breathing equipment when they have to search a meth lab house!!!!! Ether too explosive & dangerous!!

Remember the flash point on ether is so much lower than gas. You can breath on it and it will go off.

Hate to see your Dub go up in flames.
TOO DANGEROUS!!

naa, it burns to quickly to do any real damage. tho obviously if you use too much you can blow up a tire (litterally blow up, in pieces, in your face). start with a little and use progressively more, till it works. done it on scar tires, and some trailer tires, worked well. i like to pull the valve stems out tho, before i do it, cuz if your not quick enough to fill the tire with air, as the heated air cools, it sucks the tire back off the rim.

really? u mean because of the heat, or some kind of chemical reaction? never heard that before. scary. when i light a tire u usually use a rag or something on fire on the end of a stick. i'm always at a distance when i do the actuall lighting, lol.
