I've ready a lot of scattered opinions on vw and smartcar forums. Everything from 16 psi to 46 psi. As far as running them on a karmann ghia, what would you guys recommend or what have you had success with that produces even tire wear.

Run the psi the car calls for. Should Be in the owners manual or on the door jamb if it came with one. The psi goes with the car not the tire. If it were mine i would prob run 20psi cold up front. But check them COLD, 1 mile of driving can raise your tire pressure 3-6 psi.

What he said. The pressure on the tire itself, is the tires limit to not exceed. I've been running the fronts on my beetles (when I had one) at 20 and the rears at 27. You should really witch the way the tire is wearing as well. If it is wearing more in the middle part of the tread, you need to lower the pressure. If it is wearing on the outside part, raise the pressure.
