I cleaned up the home made side scoops the PO built on the waterbug. They're not perfect but a lot better than before. I filled the low spots with metal to metal filler. I blocked then re-applied filler blocked again. Then used sandable primer. I put several coats and blocked some more. Re-primed and lightly sanded and then painted the scoops. I also filled some molding holes the PO neglected to fill.

I also installed Mexican hood rubber to seal the hood. I love it it's so much easier and seals better.

Thanks!! Very Happy

I'm gonna have to find a 67 nose cone tho to have them work like I wanted. Evil or Very Mad I don't want to use the crappy reverse speedo switch so I will have to source the later nosecone with the back-up switch. A PIA but thats how I want it. Wink On the up side, I did manage to get the Euro tailights installed today! cheers (and they are working) Not a bad project. I had to run a dedicated line from the master cylinder switch and make some ground straps.(the euro buckets didn't have ground lugs) But they are nice and bright!! The amber flashers just might keep me from getting rear-ended by some cell phone talking soccer mom someday!! Shocked

Drove the bus to work. Almost got run off the road twice by two different asshats who were texting while driving. If it ever happens, I hope the Georgia Dubs will come together for some bail money cuz I'm going to KILL THEM! :Gun:

And if you're guilty of doing it yourself, this thread is your warning. When I catch you at the next light, I'm going to start beating your car with a three cell Maglight because you obviously don't give a crap about your ride or anyone else anyway.

Women drivers. Good thing the steering wheel was on the wrong side. At least they could have gotten their "just jacked up" head bobbing in unison.

Very nice score, wanna sell that cluster, you know the deluxe one with the clock, not like they are worth anything anyway, who needs a clock nowdays in the age of cell phones, even so will happily take off the plate in mine to make yours stock. Clocks are obsolete, so just for us old farts who grew up with them are into them and your a young fella right? No need for some old crusty clock. Good place to put a tach in if you ask me. Do not pay attention to those guys on the samba or e-bay those clocks are worthless, take my word on this, would I steer you wrong???? (insert imaginary sarcasm emoticon here)
Seriously if you do want to sell, let me know a price. Thanks

Bryce, pull as much metal off that floor as you can. A buddy and I are going to roll out to Carolina to pick up a Bay in the next few days and the guy says it may need some floor patching.

He's going to buy this one...

Going to visit my 'dub at the hospital tonight- she's running (possibly purring) again, so I guess I'll be starting to put her back together (woo-hoo cheers ). She really hasn't had much excitment since BAP. It's been too long.
Steve and Val didn't find any real damage anywhere, just some issues with a few pushrods ( Suspect whose been messin?), and dirty carbs ( Rolling Eyes ).

lol, thats happened to me. not sure why that happens, but i guess sometimes the paint is made wrong or something, cause sometimes paint will go on nice and smoothe, and others it will look like sand paper. Just take some fine sandpaper, and sand it down to smoothe it out. just keep getting finer and finer, and the bumps will go away.

Oh yeah, forgot about the water. guess i assumed that was a givin, lol. When it happenes to me i usually start with some 1000 grit (to get the bigger bumps out), then the 2000 grit to finish, all while wet-sanding.

Broke it. Snapped the clutch cable in traffic. Tried to drive a bit without a clutch but too many red lights. Was planning on taking it off the road this weekend. Guess I have no choice now.
