Took my daughter for a ride. We went out to Tanger Outlet and then down 19 towards Zebulon looking for the 63 you mentioned. Did not see it, but we had a great ride.

Re: Snow Day March 1, 2009
The temptation of the snow was too much. We loaded into the Thing and headed to our nursery to play. After looking at everything covered in snow and taking a few pictures, Little Jon and I jumped in the Thing to have some fun. Mary had the video camera to document our fun. We took off sliding into the snow covered field and were having a blast until we hit the garden area. Someone forgot to factor in 4" of rain and soil that had been plowed previously lay under the snow. I managed to escape a few close calls, but finally dug too big of a hole at each wheel. No fear a shovel I had. A little digging and we were going again. Time to get to firmer ground......almost, one last pass (attempt) through the soft area and we are home free.....NOT. We sunk, deep, not going anywhere but down. My friend Mauricio and I decided to push while Mary tried to drive out . She hit the gas and let out the clutch. The Thing went nowhere, but Mauricio instantly became mud man. He didn't think it was as funny as I did. THe engine and exhaust were now in the mud so I threw in the towel and used the tractor to pull it out.
It was fun and is one reason I bought a Thing, but I think I broke reverse and maybe burned out the wiper motor. That was a lot of strain trying to push that much snow. The wipers quit about a half mile from home. I had to open my door and hang my head out to see where to turn for our subdivision and for the driveway.
I'm glad it snowed. :Stuck:

Re: Snow Day March 1, 2009
I had really hoped for better weather- I wanted to do some sanding and spraying on the car. Too crappy to be in the driveway though.
What happened to the ?

I got a little sanding done in the garage before the snow really started flowing down. I don't have any pictures of the the bug covered in snow, but this pic has snow and the bug together .
Later, me and Winston went sledding.

Re: Snow Day March 1, 2009
flux you bring him to reynolds,,, mine (dashound) loves going to the races
Re: Snow Day March 1, 2009
We bring him to shows every now and them. Unfortunately my wife won't be going with me to Reynolds this year, so Winston probably won't make it with me either. He's quite a handful and it's a long drive, so I would definitely need the wife to keep him calm on the trip down. (and to help me keep from losing him when I finally get there ) He'll definitely make it to some of the other show's coming up though.camch wrote:flux you bring him to reynolds,,, mine (dashound) loves going to the races

Re: Snow Day March 1, 2009
Did anyone drive a lowered car in it, or am I the only moron to take my family on a snowplow expedition? A typical 15 minute drive became an hour and 45 minutes. I had to stop constantly to kick the snowpile away from my front apron area. Last time I drove it in the snow, it was stock height. Huge difference!
Re: Snow Day March 1, 2009
just found the post, this was before it got heavy:
later that day when the snow got worse, i did alot of burnouts, and doughnuts, and sliding sideways in the bug, in my yard. now my yard is covered in muddy slush.

Re: Snow Day March 1, 2009
steve mounted an old rotted out hood on his volksrod and we plowed some neighborhoods so folks could escape. of course we couldnt resist a few doughnuts. i had alot of fun yesterday driving where no one else could. those larger tires i have really came in handy. i cant wait to finish the Baja so i can have something else to drive the next time in snows (in another 15 years).
i had to go rescue lauren b/c a number of trees fell on peoples homes and cars in her neighborhood. her family was without power for 2 days. and there are still trees in the street. bugs were made for this weather so after i plowed the way from their driveway, her folks were able to get Laurens bug out for some trips to the store (ah propane heaters). luckily, no trees fell on their house.
