Ghia Owners Roll Call...

I have seen more Ghias on this site in the past 6 months than ever before so I think we need a Ghia specific place to post up about our cars...
I have owned 3 ghias and have only driven 1 of them, so my knowledge here is limited.
I think we should put:
-City in which you live.
-What Ghia(s) you own.
-Any special things about your Ghia (i.e. lifted with 33's under it with a Merc. unimog frame...  )
-Any thing else you want to put.
-Photos make people smile.

There are a lot of little unique parts and techniques when working on a Ghia that we all could benefit from sharing.

Anyway, let see if this gets any traction... I'll let other's post before I put in mine so it doesn't look like a commercial for my vert... LOL.

61 vert Ghia under restoration - will have a remove-able hard top, 14 inch smoothies, dropped a couple of inches, mostly original. Trying to decide between blue and red.

72 Ghia under restoration - excellent body will be mostly stock

63 Ghia Will probably part out due to major rust issues

Have a couple of ghia parts cars if anyone needs parts

2 - 70 Ghia Verts - massive rear end damage to one. Trying to take two and make 1

Nice, I wish the 69 had wide 5, but I do like the disk brakes...

I like the stance. What did you do to get it to sit like that?

How narrow? I have a 3" for mine.

70 Ghia.
Painted Hot Rod Black with red rally stripe between the chrome.  Wing on the rear deck lid, but I just took it off to give to one of our teenagers who's rebuilding a Ghia also...he loved the wing more than me, so I gave it to him.

About to change the red stripe to Blue to match the new rims I just got for it, and the blue 70 tag, and the blue VW courtesy light when you open the doors.

Juliette, Georgia 1970 green,nice original body never hit. Has 8 spoke Empis and a later duel port. I have owned five other Ghias over the years. Jim

There are very few left that have been "never hit". I think I get all the ones that have been hit a lot!!

Wife's 64 Ghia slammed on 7teens.Dropped and chopped beam ,drop spindles and disk brakes all around.extreme type 4 big block with custom everything.

How much work to rear to tuck those under there?

That 64 is sick! I'de trade my left arm for something with that kind of patina.  i also love the one on 5 spokes.

More info on this build in the future custom disk brakes and atomwerk spring plates, kafer bar and midmount for trans.

Has wide 5 to 4 lug adapters and Empi BRMS (would prefer the wide 5 look if anyone has some)

Cool ghia! When you go back to wide 5's I'd like a stab at those for my 69. Good to see you here!

1968 White Fully Stock Vert, stock 1500 engine runs and drives great!!

1964 Ruby Red Coupe, never been wrecked, 1200 CC stock engine, 37,000 original miles, Ruby Red paint has a great patina. 3" narrowed beam with drop spindles. rear soon to be lowered one or two clicks, new 135 x 15's on the front. original engine and all matching numbers. Originally owned by a UGA college chemistry professor. Also runs and drives great!!!
