Ouch, what happened? What kind of 1200 are you looking for (25 horse, 36 horse, 40 horse)?

Ouch. Sorry bout that man. do ya know exactly what happened? oil pump failure? I can't see how the rod, AND main bearings could have both crapped out, unless the pump crapped out, or the main oil passage comming from the pump got clogged somehow (or you ran out of oil). I'm guessing the case is still good. anyhoo, Sorry to hear that.

Even tho its been on the back burner for a while now, i've been wanting to build me a 40 horse. usually one of the most stout motors VW ever made. So i'm hoping mine will last when i build it (with 20 lbs of boost 8P)

good luck bro. Sad

if you can find a used 1600you can put it in there an a rod or a main bearing could have went out and that would have keeped oil from getting to the other
