Swap-a-Paluza FREE SWAP MEET September 21st, Camp Jordan, East Ridge, TN

New, from the makers of Bug-a-Paluza, it's Swap-a-Paluza!

What is Swap-A-Paluza? It's FREE swap meet designed to let you come and unload your crap, and hopefully find some new crap to take home with you. It's a 100% free event that we're putting together, as a way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported Bug-a-Paluza over the years.

Swap-a-Paluza is not a show per se. But you are welcome to bring your ride and show it off! Since it's a free event, we aren't doing registration, judging, awards, or really much of anything at all!

What we ARE doing is renting out the RV lot at Camp Jordan the weekend of September 21-22nd, 2013. We're inviting everyone to come out and sell anything they want that's VW related. New parts, old parts, you name it. Again, it's all first come first serve and there's no pre-registration, so get there early.

Other than some port-a-potties, we aren't providing anything else. There won't be t-shirts, food, plaques, sponsors, anything like that. Although we may have some old Bug-a-Paluza shirts for sale there. We're just putting on a swap meet and we hope all our friends will come out. If you get hungry, there's plenty of places in East Ridge to eat. Or if you want something special, we encourage you to drive up a few exits into downtown Chattanooga.

Finally, if you feel like camping, you can do that as well...for free! Make a weekend out of it if you like and stay Friday and Saturday night. Or book a hotel room. Since we won't have anything to spend on advertising, we hope you will help us spread the word. We think with our fan base we can get the word out efficiently and draw in a crowd. Suggestions are always welcome!

We plan on attending this. One question. We have one thing to get rid of. The side cabinent out of our 71 Westfalia. Can we just prop it up next to our truck and put a price and number on it and cruise around looking at others stuff?

You should be ok, But I'm thinking it will be like a zoo, you might post a picture of the cabinet on the truck and secure the cabinet. Not all vdubbers are honest

Really!!! I mean people are people but I get such a good vibe from folks whenever at a VW event. But then again I have not been in the VW world long.

Most are, but I would think it is more temptation of it being by itself. I'm thinking that there are going to be a lot of people at swapapaluzza. I was thinking more along the lines of of reducing the temptation. You could leave it with someone you are acquainted with and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I don't really know anyone so I think I'll do what you suggested. I really want it sold though, I don't want to carry it back. It will be cheap. I'm looking forward to this event though. I liked the venue when we went up for bug-a-paluzza.

Yes you can do that if you wish. I don't think anybody would walk off with it but you just never know. I will say in all the years we've put on Bug-a-Paluza, we've never had an issue with theft at any show. Most people if they have to leave their site or walk around just entrust a buddy or neighbor to watch their stuff so that would be my recommendation.

We are looking forward to a great event, since we aren't doing registration I don't have a prediction for number of attendees. But the responses I've seen all look positive, so we are really excited. Buy, sell, camp, hang out, relax. That's what it will be all about!

I'll be heading out early from Kennesaw in my 66 with a trailer. I'll be at the Acworth exit on 75 at 6:00
